Supplier Engagement: Partner with PCBA suppliers early in the design cycle to align on capabilities, DFA feedback, and NPI requirements.
Program Alignment: Collaborate with engineering, program management, and operations to ensure supplier deliverables, including prototype builds, ECS/MCS support, PPAP, and ramp readiness.
Cost Management: Negotiate competitive quotes, analyze PCBA cost structures (materials, assembly, test, overhead), and drive cost‑reduction opportunities.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply risks related to capacity, technology, component shortages, compliance, and geopolitical exposure.
Supplier Readiness: Ensure EMS partners meet build readiness for prototypes, pilot runs, and ramp‑up, including test strategy and supply continuity.
Transition to Production: Handoff NPI supply chain strategy, contracts, and performance metrics to production commodity managers for ongoing execution.
Market Intelligence: Monitor EMS market trends, PCBA technology roadmaps, and supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies and support innovation.
