Build a career with confidence

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is committed to creating solutions that matter for people and our planet for generations to come. From the beginning, we've led in inventing new technologies and entirely new industries. Today, we continue to lead because we have a world‑class, diverse workforce that puts the customer at the center of everything we do.

About the role

As Sr. Manager, Commodity Management & Sourcing (Electronics), you will lead sourcing strategy for Electronics Contract Manufacturing and PCBAs during New Product Introductions (NPI). This role plays a critical part in ensuring supplier readiness from prototype through ramp‑up, enabling successful product launches by balancing cost, quality, technology, and supply continuity.
Your work will directly impact time‑to‑market, product scalability, and supply chain resilience across global programs.

Key Responsibilities

As Sr. Manager, Commodity Management & Sourcing (Electronics), you’ll be responsible for:

  • Sourcing & Strategy: Define and implement sourcing strategies for PCBAs that support program milestones from concept through mass production.

  • Supplier Engagement: Partner with PCBA suppliers early in the design cycle to align on capabilities, DFA feedback, and NPI requirements.

  • Program Alignment: Collaborate with engineering, program management, and operations to ensure supplier deliverables, including prototype builds, ECS/MCS support, PPAP, and ramp readiness.

  • Cost Management: Negotiate competitive quotes, analyze PCBA cost structures (materials, assembly, test, overhead), and drive cost‑reduction opportunities.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply risks related to capacity, technology, component shortages, compliance, and geopolitical exposure.

  • Supplier Readiness: Ensure EMS partners meet build readiness for prototypes, pilot runs, and ramp‑up, including test strategy and supply continuity.

  • Transition to Production: Handoff NPI supply chain strategy, contracts, and performance metrics to production commodity managers for ongoing execution.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor EMS market trends, PCBA technology roadmaps, and supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies and support innovation.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are strategic, collaborative, and results‑driven, with the ability to lead complex sourcing initiatives in a fast‑paced, global environment.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of experience in a sourcing environment with familiarity in industrial operations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience managing suppliers and negotiations in a global supply chain context

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, or business

  • MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM)

  • Strategic sourcing experience in Contract Manufacturing (EMS/PCBA)

  • Experience using strategic sourcing and lean tools

  • Strong digital dexterity and ability to leverage data for decision‑making

  • Deep knowledge of supply chain strategy development and execution

  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication skills

  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across diverse, global organizations

  • Have peace of mind and body with our health insurance
