About the role

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing timely, proactive and practical legal advice to the businesses in Taiwan in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of business documents including tenders, sale and purchase agreements, and other contracts that arise from the day-to-day operations of the business.
  • Monitoring and advising on regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the business and escalating issues as needed.
  • Handling and advising on corporate governance matters.
  • Providing internal training on applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as general legal and risk management issues.
  • Managing claims and disputes, and liaising with external counsel, regulators and internal stakeholders as necessary.
  • Support strategic projects and initiatives, providing legal input to enable business growth.
  • Handling any other matters to be assigned by the Senior Manager - Legal, HMT.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Law.
  • License to practice in Taiwan, with 3-5 years’ experience. Admission in other jurisdiction is a plus but not required.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with sound business judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing business conditions, and learn quickly.
