About the role
As an Automation Engineer, this role will be key in the adoption and implementation of new technologies to drive Carrier’s industrial automation efforts. You will work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams across plants and business units to develop, implement, and standardize best practices in automation, directly impacting manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
Implementing robotic systems and automated cells in assembly and coil shop areas.
Evaluating, selecting, and standardizing automation technologies such as vision systems, screwdriving systems, welding, brazing, and material handling solutions.
Developing proof of concept (PoC) initiatives for new automation applications and leading their implementation across business units.
Standardizing OEE measurement through the use of digital twins to identify improvement opportunities in machinery and processes.
Performing should cost analysis to ensure strong return on investment (ROI) for automation projects.
Creating technical documentation to standardize EHS requirements related to automation projects.
Requirements
We are looking for proactive, analytical, and results-driven engineers with a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
As a minimum you must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in industrial automation.
Strong knowledge of machine design.
Experience in control systems and process automation.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Although not required, it would be a plus if you have:
Experience with Industry 4.0 and emerging manufacturing technologies.
Knowledge of IoT applications in manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with robotics and vision systems.
