Summary:
An energetic person who will be a key part of Carrier Engineering Embedded Platforms team, to drive the definition, alignment, and management of platform-level software requirements across multiple business units. This role will act as a critical interface between stakeholders, engineering teams, and program management to ensure that requirements are clearly captured, prioritized, traceable, and delivered on time.
Role Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional business units and product teams to elicit, analyze, and document platform-level requirements for embedded software systems
Maintain requirements in industry-standard tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or similar)
Act as the primary liaison between business unit architects, platform architects, and development teams
Drive consensus across stakeholders with differing priorities and constraints
Negotiate scope, priorities, and milestones to align with platform roadmap and project constraints
Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements through design, implementation and testing
Manage requirement changes, versioning, and baseline throughout the product lifecycle
Perform impact analysis for changes and communicate implications to stakeholders
Role Purpose:
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded systems, requirements engineering, stakeholder management, with the ability for negotiation and ensure alignment across diverse teams.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications: BE/ME or BTech/MTech – Electronics or BE/BTech in Electronics or ME/MTech in computer Science with 8+ years of experience in below areas: -
Proven experience in embedded software development for requirements engineering
Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and software platforms based on embedded Linux and RTOS
Hands-on experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Polarion, Jama)
Experience working in cross-functional, multi-stakeholder environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
Knowledge in embedded Linux (Yocto build systems),U-Boot, Linux kernel configuration, Device tree and BSPs.
Well versed with embedded software for microcontrollers based on RTOS (for ARM) including peripheral drivers, protocols and middleware.
Experience with modern DevOps practices and tools: test-driven development, automated builds and tests, CI/CD with GitHub, Git Actions, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Strong background in Linux & Windows administration.
Knowledge on security requirements for embedded systems
Good understanding of software update mechanisms for IoT devices
