We are looking for a hands-on Manager – Controls Projects & Commissioning to lead execution of Chiller Plant Manager (CPM) and Building Management Systems (BMS) projects.
The role requires end-to-end ownership of project delivery, including engineering coordination, site execution, commissioning, and customer handover—while actively working on-site and supporting troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Delivery
Lead execution of CPM & BMS projects from kick-off to handover
Ensure timely delivery, quality, and adherence to project milestones
Coordinate with internal teams: sales, design, procurement, and service
Track project progress, risks, and escalate issues proactively
2. Commissioning & Technical Ownership
Perform and lead hands-on commissioning of:

Field devices (sensors, actuators, meters, valves, VFDs)
HVAC systems integration (Chillers, AHUs, pumps, cooling towers)
Execute:

Troubleshoot and resolve site-level technical issues independently
3. CPM (Chiller Plant Manager) Expertise
Understand and implement:
Chiller sequencing logic
Pump optimization
Energy-efficient control strategies
Validate system performance against design intent and energy goals
4. BMS Integration
Configure and integrate systems using protocols like:
BACnet / Modbus / LonWorks (as applicable)
Ensure proper third-party integration (chillers, meters, fire alarm, etc.)
Support graphics development, point mapping, and system testing
5. Site Management
Take charge of on-site execution
Coordinate with:
Contractors
OEMs
Consultants
Clients
Ensure site readiness, installation quality, and safety compliance
6. Documentation & Handover
Prepare and validate:
Commissioning reports
As-built documents
IO summaries
Conduct client demonstrations and training
Support smooth project closure and billing milestones
7. Team Handling (if applicable)
Guide junior engineers and technicians
Allocate tasks and monitor productivity
Provide on-the-job training for commissioning activities
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
HVAC systems (chillers, AHUs, primary-secondary pumping)
BMS/DDC systems and architecture
CPM / plant optimization logic
Hands-on experience in:
PLC/DDC programming (preferred)
Field device commissioning
Protocol integration (BACnet/Modbus)
Behavioral Skills
Strong ownership mindset (end-to-end responsibility)
Problem-solving attitude (especially at site)
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication with clients and internal teams
Experience & Qualification
Education: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation
Experience: 6–12 years in BMS / HVAC Controls projects
Prior experience in CPM / Chiller Plant Optimization is highly preferred
Work Requirements
Willingness to travel extensively and work on project sites
Comfortable in hands-on field role, not just supervisory
Success Metrics (KPIs)
On-time project delivery
First-time-right commissioning
Customer satisfaction
Billing & collection support
Reduction in site rework/issues
Ideal Candidate Profile (Important for Hiring Clarity)
Not a “desk engineer” — must be a field-driven execution person
Has handled complete lifecycle of projects, not just a part
Comfortable with both technical depth + coordination role
Exposure to data centers / commercial buildings / industrial HVAC is a plus
