About this role
Carrier’s Climate Solutions Americas Aftermarket business is seeking a dynamic Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to support EHS Field Operations. This role is ideally for someone based in the Mississauga location who will play a critical role in executing EHS strategy, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate standards, and driving continuous improvement across a diverse and distributed workforce.
Must be willing to travel (fly & drive) up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate as an active member of the North America (NA) Field EHS Team, supporting overall operational success.
- Implement and measure the success of EHS programs, strategies, policies, training, and procedures in alignment with Corporate and Business Unit expectations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through the field-based behavioral safety program to drive proactive (near miss, stop work, hazard ID) reporting.
- Partner with the business to perform root cause analysis of incidents and injuries to determine specific actions needed to prevent their recurrence.
- Lead auditing and inspection initiatives that monitor EHS performance, conduct trend analyses, and implement improvements to EHS programs to enhance performance.
- Oversee the monitoring of changes to EHS laws, regulations, and emerging issues and their impact on the business; and developing or updating programs for managing those changes and mitigating the impacts on the business, our employees, and the communities in which we operate.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to identify and implement data-driven solutions that enhance performance.
- Visit job sites to ensure effective implementation of EHS processes and programs. Identify existing or potential risks and hazards. Partner with the business to implement the recommended corrective or preventative measures in a timely manner.
- Define and execute EHS training and orientation. Identify EHS related training requirements for associates and support processes to ensure training effectiveness and compliance.
- Keep EHS related records accurate, maintained and organized and in compliance with local, state, and national requirements or any other regulatory agency rules and regulations.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors have implemented an effective safety process through pre-qualification and job site reviews.
- Coach/mentor on EHS operation to employees and leadership, i.e., safe work practices, hazard identification and risk management.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of practical environmental health and safety management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental safety and health.
- Certification in Environmental, Safety or Health, Risk Management i.e., CIH, CSP, etc.
- Design and implement EHS Operating Systems.
- Research regulations, develop a program and successfully operationalize within a business.
- Experience in field service/construction site safety management.
- Cross functional leading, motivating, engaging and influencing others.
- MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)/
- EHS related data management systems (i.e. Enablon or similar).
- SharePoint development and management.
- Adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
Pay Range
The expected base salary range for this role is between $89,500 and $139,500. The rate of pay may be impacted by factors such as the applicant’s geographic location, market data/range, skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and/or other relevant considerations.
This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, etc., as well as possible RRSP matching.
Other Compensation
This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive. If the role provides for an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.

Technology-enabled tools may support parts of the recruitment process, with oversight by people.
