This is a unique company representative role supporting Carrier’s interest on a large-scale, long-term construction project. The Construction Manager serves as Carrier’s leader on this project and will be deeply embedded within an existing project team to provide independent oversight, monitor progress, ensure schedule adherence, cost control and report directly to senior leadership. The individual in this role will be regularly present on the construction grounds, actively engaged in project meetings, and responsible for ensuring that project execution aligns with Carrier’s expectations and contractual commitments.
The position requires demonstrated experience as a construction manager, a high degree of field presence, situational awareness, and the ability to operate effectively within a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment. This role is part of a dedicated construction management oversight function responsible for reviewing budget estimates, schedules, change orders, and risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrier Representation: Act as Carrier’s primary representative on assigned construction projects, advocating for the company’s interests and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Navigation of Government focused job site and documentation requirements
- Project Oversight: Monitor construction activities through regular site presence and participation in project meetings, ensuring work is progressing safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
- Budget and Resource Management: Review and independently assess multimillion-dollar project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, and monitor financial performance.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular, clear reporting to senior leadership on project status, budget performance, schedule adherence, risks, and issues; serve as a key liaison between the field team and Carrier’s management.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and work with the on-site team to implement mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and minimizing project disruptions.
- Construction Management Office (CMO) Functions: Review and evaluate budget estimates, project schedules, change orders, and risk assessments on behalf of Carrier, ensuring contractual and financial commitments are properly managed.
- Ability to quickly assess issues and make real-time decisions in collaboration with the on-site project team. Provide immediate approvals within the overall DOA framework and seek additional approvals from senior leadership when necessary.
- On site subcontractor Oversight including verifying that all subcontractors are in strict compliance with contract documents, codes, and safety requirements. Validating quality of work, coordinating with other trades, keeping work aligned to the approved documents and schedules and supporting commissioning and project close out.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Engineering
- 10+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with significant leadership responsibility on large-scale projects.
Preferred Competencies
- Prior experience in an owner’s representative, project controls, or construction oversight capacity is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, specific to government regulations and standards, ideal for this position
- Proven track record of delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets and project portfolios.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital tools
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment while independently representing and protecting the interests of Concrete.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.Benefits
