About the role
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality in compliance with engineering specifications, as well as controlling manufacturing process parameters that directly impact product quality. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence, resolving customer issues, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Improvement Projects & Strategy
Lead end-to-end quality improvement projects, from problem identification through implementation and sustainability.
Identify key process gaps and prioritize initiatives based on business impact (scrap, rework, FPY, customer complaints, COPQ).
Apply structured methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC to drive measurable results.
2. Data Analysis & Process Performance
Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, variability, and root causes of defects.
Monitor and improve key process indicators such as Cp/Cpk, FPY, RTY, Scrap, and process stability.
Develop dashboards and reporting systems to ensure data-driven decision-making.
3. Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
Lead structured root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic and high-impact quality issues using 8D, A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.
Ensure effective containment, corrective actions, and validation of long-term solutions.
Eliminate recurring failure modes by driving systemic improvements in processes and controls.
4. Process Optimization & Error Proofing
Improve manufacturing processes by reducing variation and enhancing process capability and robustness.
Develop and implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) solutions to prevent defects and reduce dependency on inspection.
Optimize inspection and process controls based on risk and performance data.
5. Quality Systems & Standardization
Update and improve PFMEA, Control Plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to reflect process improvements.
Ensure alignment between process documentation and actual manufacturing practices.
Support deployment and sustainability of quality systems and best practices across HVAC production lines.
6. Cross-Functional Project Leadership
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to: Improve process capability and equipment performance
Reduce defects and variability in HVAC system assembly and component manufacturing
Support implementation of engineering changes and new process technologies
Act as a change agent, influencing teams to adopt continuous improvement culture.
7. Customer & Field Quality Improvement
Analyze customer complaints and field returns to identify systemic issues.
Lead improvement initiatives to address product performance concerns (e.g., leaks, noise, vibration, electrical failures in HVAC systems).
Ensure lessons learned are standardized and deployed across operations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
≥3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Continuous Improvement roles.
≥1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment (HVAC or similar preferred).
Strong knowledge of quality systems, data analysis, and process control methodologies.
Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
Experience in HVAC manufacturing or similar industries (appliances, mechanical or thermal systems).
Strong knowledge of Core Tools: SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, APQP.
Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or higher preferred).
Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
