About this role:

As the Northeast Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for providing factory account management and sales support to assigned company-owned and independent Automated Logic field offices in your region. The primary objective of the position is to develop and grow the company’s product sales throughout the northeastern United States. Utilizing your sales, technical and operational experience in the BMS sector, you will anticipate the needs of customers and actively support and share insights to help our partners develop, grow and win in their local markets.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales and Distribution of Automated Logic North America, the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a sales growth strategy that ensures field offices have the necessary ALC product knowledge, tools, content, webinars and event support to meet their sales needs.

In support of the sales growth strategy, you will develop and maintain a strategic sales pipeline. You will develop annual field office sales quotas/targets and maintain forecasts and account development plans to achieve those targets. You will develop and maintain content and presentations to support your regions.

You will support the digital systems and product development initiatives required to achieve your growth goals. You will work with Solutions Consultants to help drive brand awareness, increase ALC specification rates and help educate the engineering community about all things building systems related. You will demonstrate excellent presentation skills as well as a thorough technical understanding of building automation systems and controls contracting. This self-starter will work effectively with a wide range of administrative, sales, and account management responsibilities.

You should have work history that demonstrates excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving aptitude. Extraordinary leadership capabilities, a high degree of personal integrity, interpersonal skills and abilities are ideal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain field office pipeline forecast
  • Identify and promote best practices across the region
  • Provide/participate in field office sales and product training
  • Provide counsel to field offices (specification interpretation, business/sales strategy, etc.)
  • Provide account management (pricing strategy, conflict resolution, customer relations, etc.)
  • Assume the primary company and product demonstration role
  • Provide voice of the customer for new product development
  • Provide competitive and market specific feedback
  • Participate in industry meetings and exhibitions
  • Participate in in-house factory initiatives as needed (i.e. quality initiatives, digital tools, CRM tool, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 + years of experience in intelligent buildings systems industry
  • Travel as required (50-60%) including international

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Automated Logic WebCTRL system (other building system experience a plus)
  • Experience estimating, designing and/or selling controls systems
  • Proactive problem solver and leader
  • Excellent analytical, and computer technical skills
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others across functional teams
  • Up-to-date on new technologies and applies new knowledge and techniques to the job
  • Capable of working independently and comfortable making decisions
  • CEM and/or LEED AP accreditation a plus
  • Flexibility with regard to job duties (those listed and others as assigned by the supervisor)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver consistently
  • Use and familiarity with MS Office – Excel (power user), PowerPoint (power user), Word, Visio and Salesforce.com, etc.

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.  

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $120,000–$168,000.  Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
