About the Role

 The Sustaining Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the continuity and stability of manufacturing operations by providing direct shop floor support for production test systems, vision systems, programming equipment, and escalated technical issues. This position serves as the operational focal point within the manufacturing environment, driving rapid problem resolution, minimizing downtime, and supporting high-volume production through advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing first-level technical troubleshooting and analysis for production test-related issues.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software failures on electronic assemblies and test equipment.
• Reviewing, analyzing, repairing, and improving functional and in-circuit test fixtures.
• Collecting and analyzing failure logs, diagnostic data, and test results to identify root causes.
• Performing advanced troubleshooting on test systems, programming equipment, and vision systems, while escalating critical issues when required.
• Analyzing test program sequences and supporting optimization of testing processes.
• Designing, modifying, and implementing improvements to test fixtures and related equipment.
• Partnering with Contract Manufacturing teams to investigate, diagnose, and resolve escalated production issues.
  

Requirements

We are looking for people who are analytical, hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Intermediate English proficiency with the ability to read technical documentation
• Experience troubleshooting and managing the escalation of production and test-related issues.
• Knowledge of Functional Test systems and platforms such as PXI and VXI.
• Experience with In-Circuit Test (ICT) platforms such as Genrad, Teradyne, or Digital Test.
• Familiarity with Data I/O programming equipment and electronic device programming processes.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, electrical diagrams, and logical diagrams.
• Understanding of test equipment architecture, test software, and manufacturing test processes.
  

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Experience supporting Contract Manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of test fixture design, validation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with manufacturing data analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation.
