About this role
Internships at Carrier in the Strategic Sourcing department could include any or all the responsibilities noted below. In addition to the direct responsibilities of the internship, the individual will be included in an array of meetings/discussions that will provide them with learning experiences.
This internship will be responsible for assisting with project management, data analytics, operational execution, and contract document management. The Strategic Sourcing team, will help you gain insight into the daily activities and requirements for sourcing, negotiating, managing, and maintaining an extensive contract portfolio targeting a diverse group of suppliers and partners. This opportunity is designed to encourage growth over time. Intern candidates can potentially return to Carrier for subsequent internships to continue growing in key areas of responsibility.
Carrier is looking for an intern for our Summer 2026 Cohort from May 18th – August 14th, 2026, and will sit Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality, sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, engineering) to ensure effective supply chain operations.
- Manage assigned commodities: plan, procure, and expedite components to meet sales and production schedules.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure on-time delivery through accurate purchase orders and schedule agreements.
- Analyze MRP and SAP data to support inventory goals and supplier performance, including generating reports and conducting root cause analysis.
- Resolve Accounts Payable issues promptly to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Address supplier quality concerns and coordinate returns for defective materials.
- Support management with assigned projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or operations
- Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be a US Citizen or eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, results-focused, and able to work both independently and in teams.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is $ 36,750–$127,500.
