Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and domain-aware UX Designer to design intuitive, efficient, and operator-friendly experiences for Manufacturing and MES platforms such as SAP Manufacturing Execution, Ignition Platform, and Rockwell FactoryTalk (or similar systems).
This role focuses on improving shop-floor usability, production visibility, quality workflows, and real-time operational decision-making. The ideal candidate understands industrial environments and designs for operators, supervisors, planners, and plant leadership.
What You Will Do (Day-to-Day)
·Develop user personas (machine operators, line supervisors, quality inspectors, planners).
·Map production workflows including work orders, quality checks, downtime logging, and traceability. Identify usability gaps in already funtional MES systems.
·Design intuitive dashboards for production monitoring (OEE, downtime, yield).Simplify shop-floor data entry interfaces.
·Improve usability of work instruction screens and quality control modules.Optimize real-time alerting and exception management interfaces.
·Design for touchscreens, tablets, and industrial terminals
·Create clear visual representations of KPIs such as:OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), Throughput, Scrap rates, Downtime categories
·Support digital shop-floor initiatives and smart factory programs.
·Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.
·Develop reusable UI components for industrial applications.
Mandatory Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, HCI, Industrial Design, or related field.
· 5–8 years of UX experience, with at least 2–3 years in manufacturing or enterprise applications.
· Experience designing for MES, ERP manufacturing modules, or shop-floor systems.
· Strong portfolio demonstrating workflow simplification and dashboard design.
· Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools.
· Understanding of manufacturing KPIs and operational processes.
Good to Have (Nice-to-Have)
· Experience working with SAP Manufacturing, Siemens Opcenter, or similar MES tools.
· Exposure to Industry 4.0, IoT, or Smart Factory initiatives.
· Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA manufacturing modules.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
· Experience designing for multilingual global plants.
