Function: Global Operations – Materials Strategy
Travel: 15–20% (regional factories and global coordination)

Role Purpose

As the Climate Solutions Americas, Materials Strategy Lead, you will define and deploy the materials management strategy for the Americas region within the Climate Solutions business. This includes lineback logistics design, PFEP (Plan for Every Part) standards, safety stock strategy, and replenishment models that enable resilient, cost-effective, and agile factory operations.

You will work closely with the Global Materials Strategy Leader, regional SIOP teams, procurement, and factory operations to ensure that strategic materials policies translate into measurable improvements in inventory health, lead time reduction, and supply assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Materials Strategy & Governance

  • Define and implement the materials management strategy for Climate Solutions Americas, aligned with the global roadmap.

  • Establish lineback logistics principles and replenishment strategies (pull systems, kanban, supermarket design) for factories.

Process Standardization & Best Practices

  • Deploy best-in-class materials planning methodologies (time-phased planning, pull-based replenishment, dynamic buffers) across regional factories.

Digital Enablement & Analytics

  • Support the implementation of digital tools and platforms for materials planning and PFEP management in partnership with IT and global teams.

Supplier Collaboration & Risk Mitigation

  • Collaborate with Global Procurement and Strategic Sourcing to align material strategies with supplier capabilities and lead-time targets.

  • Identify material risk points and support scenario planning for supply continuity under demand volatility or disruptions.

Inventory Strategy & Performance Management

  • Define and monitor inventory policies for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods within the Americas region.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic partner to regional operations, SIOP, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure material strategies support product lifecycle and capacity planning.

Success Metrics

  • Inventory Health: DIOH, E&O exposure, PFEP accuracy.

  • Material Availability: Shortage reduction, on-time material delivery to line.

  • Process Compliance: Adoption of PFEP, safety stock, and replenishment standards.

  • Lead Time Reduction: Supplier and internal material flow improvements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.

  • Experience: 8–12+ years in materials management, supply chain strategy, or factory logistics; experience in lineback logistics and PFEP is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred), PFEP tools, and advanced analytics platforms.

  • Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of material flow design, inventory optimization, and lean principles.

  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to drive adoption of standards across multiple factories and functions.

  • Language: English required; Spanish or Portuguese a plus for Americas coordination.

  • Travel: 15–20% within the region and occasional global travel.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic and systems thinking with strong execution focus

  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical rigor

  • Ability to influence without direct authority across regions and functions

  • Continuous improvement mindset and digital fluency

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
