About the role
As a Sr. Category Manager – Insulation & Rubber, you will be responsible for developing and executing regional sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization, supplier performance, innovation, and supply chain resilience. This role leads Carrier’s North America spend of approximately $50M across 70+ suppliers and plays a critical role within the CSA Supply Chain organization. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure competitive advantage and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sr. Category Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
Managing a regional category spend of approximately $50M, ensuring competitive sourcing strategies and supply continuity.
Developing and executing the category strategy for Insulation & Rubber, balancing cost, availability, supplier innovation, and operational flexibility.
Leading cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, product management, quality, and supply chain to support new product development and operational goals.
Driving supplier performance management, including vendor scorecards, performance metrics, and reporting to leadership.
Leading strategic sourcing initiatives, including contract negotiations, supplier qualification, dual sourcing strategies, pricing management, resourcing initiatives, and capacity planning.
Supporting the development of the commodity management organization, collaborating with global teams and the Center of Excellence to improve global sourcing performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement within a global industrial manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and commercial negotiations.
Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global environments, influencing stakeholders across multiple business units.
Availability to travel approximately 15%, including occasional international travel.
Valid visa.
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
Master’s degree.
Strong negotiation capabilities and advanced strategic sourcing expertise.
Experience with Lean tools, sourcing methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical skills and digital proficiency, leveraging data for decision-making.
Demonstrated success leading large, complex cross-functional projects, managing supplier relationships, and communicating with executive stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
