About the role

As the Commodity Manager – Data Center, you will play a critical role in supporting one of Carrier's fastest-growing aftermarket businesses. You will be responsible for executing sourcing strategies and ensuring a reliable supply of critical chiller components for Data Center applications. Working closely with suppliers, manufacturing plants, planning, and global sourcing teams, you will help secure supply continuity, improve supplier performance, and drive cost, quality, and delivery objectives across the region.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commodity Manager – Data Center you'll be responsible for:

• Execute sourcing strategies and manage RFQs for assigned Data Center chiller components across Mexico and Latin America.

• Manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, lead times, and expedite activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components.

• Support critical spare parts planning, including NLA (No Longer Available) transitions and New Product Introduction (NPI) readiness.

• Maintain supplier master data, PFEP, AVL, BOM, and material information within SAP and planning systems while identifying cost savings opportunities.

• Partner with manufacturing, planning, field service, and global sourcing teams to resolve supply chain risks, improve supplier performance, and support business continuity.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are proactive, analytical, results-driven, collaborative, and capable of solving complex supply chain challenges. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, buying, or materials planning within a manufacturing environment.

• Experience managing suppliers, executing RFQs, purchase orders, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.

• Proficiency with SAP ERP, advanced Excel, and experience working with cross-functional global teams.

• Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with strong communication skills to support regional and global supplier collaboration.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Experience in HVAC, chillers, critical mechanical components, capital equipment, or Data Center industries.

• Knowledge of PFEP, AVL, BOM, KetteQ, Kinaxis, inventory planning, and critical spare parts management.

• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience with a continuous improvement mindset.

Benefits

We offer a competitive total rewards package that may include other benefits and well-being programs. Offerings vary by role and location and are designed to support employees’ health, security, and success.

If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete the application process, participate in an interview, or otherwise engage in the hiring process, please contact us at [email protected]. We will make every effort to meet your needs in accordance with applicable laws.
