About the role

The Category Manager – Machined Castings will support and execute sourcing and supplier management strategies for the machined castings category supporting global manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to develop category strategies, support new product introductions, and ensure a competitive and resilient supplier network. The position plays a key role in driving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and long-term business objectives while supporting innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Category Manager – Machined Castings, you'll be responsible for:

  • Support the development and execution of category strategies aligned with business objectives, supplier capabilities, and technology roadmaps.

  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.

  • Support supplier selection, qualification, and sourcing activities in partnership with Engineering and Product Management, particularly for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.

  • Identify supply chain risks and support the implementation of mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, supplier diversification, and business continuity planning.

  • Support supplier negotiations and drive continuous cost improvement initiatives across the category.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are strategic, collaborative, results-driven, and effective communicators with strong negotiation and analytical skills. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating with international suppliers.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Operations.

  • Advanced English communication skills and strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience managing machined castings, castings, forgings, machining, stampings, metals, or related manufacturing commodities.

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and supplier qualification activities.

  • Knowledge of supplier risk management, dual sourcing strategies, cost analysis, and global supply chain operations.
