About the role

This is a hands-on, specialist-level position focused on the practical implementation and continuous improvement of EHS standards across Northern UK.

You will work closely with operational teams, providing day-to-day EHS support across field service, sales, and business support functions. The role is centered on driving compliance, improving safety culture, and supporting the business through practical, on-the-ground EHS expertise.

  • Support the rollout of EHS initiatives and contribute to the consistent application of EHS standards across sites.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by engaging directly with employees and encouraging safe behaviours.
  • Participate in and support incident investigations, helping identify root causes and preventative actions.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training and toolbox talks.
  • Support the management of subcontractor safety, including prequalification and on-site performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Maintain accurate records within internal EHS reporting systems
  • Support EHS communication through clear, practical, and engaging messaging.
  • Assist with EHS certification and compliance processes.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Proven experience in a hands-on Health & Safety role across multiple sites (e.g. depots, service locations, or project sites) within construction, field service, engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK EHS regulations and standards, particularly within building services, construction, or field-based operations
  • Experience working on-site and directly with operational and depot-based teams, providing practical EHS support
  • A proactive, practical approach with the ability to identify risks across varied environments and implement effective solutions independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple locations
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation and support diverse teams across different sites
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Northern UK to visit multiple sites and depot locations
  • Full UK driving licence
