About the role
As the FCU Engineer for Carrier, you’ll be support in planning experiments and gathering technical data to support engineering disciplines, provides technical support to engineers on single task and responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of work area.
Key Responsibilities:
As a FCU Engineer you’ll be responsible for:
- Responsible for the FCU product sustaining, development, testing & certification
- Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies, when required, to ensure that designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable
- Perform FCU Engineering to order processing, generating and maintaining FCU product engineering data (parts/components drawing, bill-of-materials) as per customer requirements
- Support customers’ enquiries (technical support etc.)
- Identify and carry out VA/VE activities
- Responsible for the FCU selection software development and maintenance
- Familiar with continuous improvement activities, practice and support Carrier Excellence activities in accordance with corporate requirements
- May provide technical support to engineers on a single engineering task.
- Supports in planning experiments and gathering technical data for engineering projects.
- Supports the analysis of workflow, routing, floor layouts, materials handling, or machine utilization.
- Identifies malfunctions for test setups and equipment, and develops recommendations for solutions.
- Participates in the development of materials test and analysis.
- Work with team on details and implications of test procedures and results and design procedures for testing systems and equipment.

As a minimum you must have:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent with 3-5 years experience in FCU industry
- Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia
- Working experience in Room Fan Coil Unit (FCU) with good understanding of HVAC systems, comfort air and indoor air quality (IAQ)
- Working experience in product development process including prototyping, testing, check samples, part qualification, pilot runs etc.
- Knowledgeable in HVAC selection tools like psychrometric chart, heat exchanger simulation and fan selection
- Knowledgeable in product certification program (eg.: AHRI-440 Room Fan Coil Certified, Eurovent Certified Performance)
- Knowledgeable in stress analysis simulation
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, molding, finishing process, unit assembly and packing
- Basic knowledge of electrical, electronics and controls are required
- Strong skill in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD Mechanical, Creo and equivalent)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (BAAN/SAP)
- Effective project management skill and experience is required
- Able to work independently and a good team player, working and communicating with different levels and various departments
