About the Role

Carrier is seeking an Associate Engineer, Draft/Product Definition to support the development and maintenance of light commercial HVAC products through the creation of high-quality engineering documentation and product definition deliverables.

In this role, you will work closely with product engineers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop 3D models, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation that support product releases, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers looking to build expertise in product design, HVAC technologies, and engineering best practices within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Engineer, Draft/Product Definition, you'll be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical product documentation for light commercial HVAC products.

  • Supporting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and product definition activities by following established engineering processes and design standards.

  • Executing defined design assignments under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads.

  • Reviewing dimensions, materials, tolerances, and product documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.

  • Collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve assigned technical issues and support product improvements.

  • Supporting quality enhancements, product updates, and cost reduction initiatives through accurate technical documentation.

  • Maintaining engineering records and documentation within established systems and processes.

  • Developing technical knowledge of HVAC products, engineering standards, and product lifecycle management processes.

Requirements

We are looking for detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated engineers with a passion for mechanical design and product development. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering field.

  • Internship, co-op, or up to 2 years of experience in mechanical design, product design, drafting, or an engineering environment.

  • Basic experience with 3D CAD software and engineering drawing creation.

  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances, mechanical design principles, and manufacturing fundamentals.

  • Professional working proficiency in English with the ability to participate in technical discussions and collaborate with global teams.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to follow engineering standards, procedures, and documented processes.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience with HVAC products or mechanical systems.

  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and Engineering Change processes.

  • Knowledge of GD&T and engineering documentation best practices.

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments and product development processes.

  • Experience working on projects in a cross-functional engineering team.

Benefits

We offer a competitive total rewards package that may include other benefits and well-being programs. Offerings vary by role and location and are designed to support employees' health, security, and success.

If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete the application process, participate in an interview, or otherwise engage in the hiring process, please contact us at [email protected]. We will make every effort to meet your needs in accordance with applicable laws.
