Carrier Global Corporation, global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions is committed to creating solutions that matter for people and our planet for generations to come. From the beginning, we've led in inventing new technologies and entirely new industries. Today, we continue to lead because we have a world-class, diverse workforce that puts the customer at the center of everything we do.

About the role

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead supplier quality management to ensure product and process compliance across our supply base. In this role, you will drive supplier development, validate components and processes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to reduce escapes, minimize cost of poor quality (COPQ), and strengthen supply reliability for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring supplier compliance with quality requirements, including specifications, internal standards, quality manual requirements, and control of critical-to-quality characteristics (CTQs).

  • Leading supplier quality activities, including structured problem-solving (8D, A3, Six Sigma), containment actions, corrective actions, and recurrence prevention—both in-plant and in the field.

  • Supporting supplier qualification and development through APQP, engineering changes, and validation of new products/suppliers via PPAP, including on-site audits and supplier visits.

  • Managing supplier performance by monitoring KPIs (PPM, COPQ, escapes), reporting results (scorecards), and executing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain) to manage supplier quality issues, support decision-making, and reduce/manage quarantined inventory.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are results-driven, decisive, analytical, and customer-focused, with strong influence skills to align cross-functional teams and suppliers. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automation & Controls, Electronics & Communications, Industrial & Systems, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, including 3+ years in Supplier Quality Engineering.

  • Advanced experience qualifying components through PPAP, including evaluation and release of complete PPAP packages; strong command of AIAG Core Tools (Control Plan, FMEA, PPAP, plus APQP/SPC/MSA preferred).

  • Strong problem-solving expertise using structured methodologies (Six Sigma, A3, 8D).

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems audits (ISO 9001 / IATF), and solid knowledge of GD&T (tolerance analysis, dimensional requirements interpretation, functional impact).

  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, casting, and/or electronics, including supplier development under APQP and field failure analysis.

  • Ability to manage supplier KPI performance (PPM, COPQ, escapes) and execute supplier audits/visits in global environments.

  • Advanced English (spoken and written).

  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) / statistical tools.

  • People leadership exposure (experience supervising personnel).

  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally up to 30% (based on business needs).

  • Valid VISA.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Formal certification/training in AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).

  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) or equivalent continuous improvement credentials.

  • Experience working with plastics injection molding and/or additional special manufacturing processes.

  • Certified internal auditor (ISO 9001/IATF) or supplier audit qualification.
