About the position
The Logistics Operations Manager will manage Replacement Components’ (RC) 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) Distribution Centers (DCs) within the US including a small team of Carrier employees and a large team of 3PL associates. Works closely with the 3PL to meet or exceed business goals while providing the best service to Carrier’s customers. Supports long term strategic objectives for storing and shipping products, activity planning, responding to highly complex and comprehensive inquiries, and ensuring the highest quality of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees Carrier’s RC primary DC in Chattanooga, Tennessee as well as any additional RC DCs and/or Forward Stocking Locations within the US
  • Provides oversight and direction to 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) account and its ~300+ associates for all RC business to ensure compliance to all existing Service Level Agreements
  • Works closely with 3PL to establish daily goals and track performance to daily targets.
  • Manages a small Carrier team to support Receiving Exceptions, Financial Reporting, E&O dispositioning, warehouse quality, as well as day-to-day operations.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of the capacity management process, including identification of capacity gaps and/or any requirements for warehouse space.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of plans to minimize risks for shortages/overages and ensures overall successful DC quality process to reduce customer DC escapes.
  • Responsible for engagement with Carrier management to report on daily progress as well as any communication regarding obstacles to success
  • Works cross-functionally between material planning, procurement, engineering, transportation, customer service, etc. teams to ensure alignment to business goals and strategy and to resolve business challenges or issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of science or arts.
  • 5+ years experience in Logistics / Supply Chain
  • 5+ years experience in warehouse management
  • 2+ years people management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20 % (domestically and in North of America).

Preferred Qualifications (assets)

  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP and/or JDA/Blue Yonder
  • Certified in Six Sigma or some Lean Principles
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a history of influencing multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs
  • Detail-oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work across multiple teams
  • Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated data base systems
  • Proven ability to succeed in the day to day management of sustaining and strategic priorities
  • Technical knowledge / understanding of the HVAC product industry or ability to learn expeditiously
  • Passionate about eliminating problems before they occur or after only one occurrence.
  • Strong leadership skills including the capability to drive improvement and challenge the status quo

Pay Range:

$90,263 - $157,959 Annually
