Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Chief Architect to set and motivate overall corporate software development directions and define architecture of ‘Software-defined-Products/Solutions’.

• Being the critical and key member of Global Embedded Software Steering Committee to drive the global common platform by recommending and deciding technical solutions and guiding global/regional engineering teams toward a common and scalable methodology.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Digital Technology, Innovation & Strategy, System Integration, Product Management to design the embedded software solution strategy and explore the future advanced technologies for Carrier to differentiate and be more competitive as a Global Intelligent Climate and Energy Solution provider.

• Provide strong leadership in both incremental and transformational improvements to engineering productivity and development practices across the global embedded software teams, and independently lead large, cross team tech projects and initiatives to support business success.

• Highly involved and engaged in all aspects of the development life cycle for Carrier Embedded Platforms, including developing and upgrading processes and tools (from concept, design, reviews, coding, to verification/validation), as well as mentoring engineers on development in alignment with the architectural vision.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• MS degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

• Proven experience and expertise as Embedded Software Architect, working experience in Automobile and IoT relevant industries is a plus.

• Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C/C++, C#, .NET, Java etc.), confident in the use of GNU (Cross-)Toolchain, (C)Make.

• Excellent knowledge of software and application design, high-level architecture design and complexity analysis.

• Experience in creating images for different hardware platforms like MCU, SoC ARM series.

• Hands on expertise on Linux OS, RTOS, multithreading, and experience with various communication protocols like IP, DHCP, RS232 RS485, I2C, SPI, CAN, CANOpen etc.

• Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods.

• Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design like QT/QML.

• Exprience with modern DevOps practices and tools: test-driven development, GIT, automated builds and tests, CI/CD with Gitlab/GitHub, Jenkins, AWS etc.

• Expert knowledge of build automation/DevOps tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Chef/Ansible etc); Hands-on experience to build and handle VM’s, Containers utilizing tools like, Docker.

• Highly motivated, fast learner who works well both independently and within a team, technical mindset with great attention to detail.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
