About the role

As an Inside Sales Engineer for Fire Alarm Systems and Video, you will play a crucial role in driving the sales of our advanced fire alarm products. You will work closely with internal and external customers to understand their needs, provide technical expertise, and support the sales process.

Your goal is to Follow processes, maintain required quality standards and on time deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement:

    • Respond to inquiries and provide technical support and product information to customers via phone, email, and online platforms.

    • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate fire alarm systems, and video solutions.

  • Sales Support:

    • Prepare and present detailed product demonstrations, proposals, and quotations tailored to customer needs.

    • Preparation of Checklist, Technical Write-up, Block Diagram, Deviation Chart etc.

    • Creation of bill of material, selection of Backend, Field Devices, Software Identification, Network connection, Cable Type and Length Calculations related to Fire Detection System.

    • Ensure quality assurance, defect free deliverables, on time deliveries and customer satisfaction.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Offer technical assistance on product specifications, installations, and troubleshooting.

    • Stay updated on the latest fire alarm technology and industry trends to effectively address customer queries and concerns.

    • Review project inputs and specifications; should be able to capture the scope and understand the complete requirements of the project.

    • Review MEP drawings, specification, SOP and identify equipment related to Fire Detection System.

    • Preparation and participation for project kick-off / review meetings with technical queries, compliance / deviations log, risk logs and record minutes of meeting.

    • Adherence to standard estimation process and guideline to select proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services to come up with the optimum budget.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the sales team, engineers, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction.

    • Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure that customer requirements are met and project specifications are clear.

    • Provides product Training workshops to team members and partners in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills to bridge the gap.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline status.

    • Prepare sales reports and provide insights to management on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.

  • Training and Development:

    • Participate in ongoing training to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.

    • Train and mentor sales team or new team members as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: BE/Diploma (Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communication).

  • Experience: 6 to 9 years of experience in technical sales support and solution design or technical inside sales, preferably within the fire alarm or related industry.

  • Skills:

    • Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems and related safety products.

    • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.),

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficient in written and verbal communication.

    • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with fire alarm system design and code compliance.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA / BS 5839/EN/ FM.).
