About this Role

Carrier Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to lead product management of the commercial Air Cooled Chiller product platform (centrifugal, screw and scroll compressor based). This includes development of product strategy, roadmaps, NPI and all aspects of business activities for existing equipment. This role is based in Charlotte, NC and will require some domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial Air Cooled Chiller product platform
  • Lead the development of product strategy and road mapping
  • Be the voice for customers in the areas of product need, strategy and market requirements.
  • Analyze and monitor regulatory trends and competitive activity within the segment
  • Increase segment share growth, sales and profitability
  • Develop and execute product pricing strategies
  • Develop sales and marketing tools that assist the field sales force in their selling efforts including electronic catalogs and stocking profiles
  • Develop marketing plans (events, presentations, brochures, training and videos) for launching new commercial products
  • Develop and support marketing plans by select customer vertical segments
  • Engage in industry events, organize regular voice-of-customer forums with consulting engineers and sales offices for the purpose of increasing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Be recognized within the organization as a thought leader in area of expertise
  • Develop and own strategic and operational goals which have significant impact to the achievement of results
  • Influence business decisions made by executive leadership
  • Communicates with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization; conducts briefings with senior leaders in and outside of job function

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical)
  • 5 + years of experience in product management and/or product marketing
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Experience in Commercial HVAC Sales, Product Management, Application Engineering or Design
  • Strong knowledge of commercial applied HVAC market, systems and product
  • Experience with one or more of the following applications is preferred; semi-custom and custom commercial applied chillers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple functions, to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Combination of excellent technical skills, be a self-starter, with strong business understanding, strong self-direction, and excellent interpersonal/influencing skills to work across the Carrier organization and with customer
  • Key traits include personality defined by positivity, responsibility, integrity, accountability, and respect culminating in a strong work ethic

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.  

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $146,750–$205,250.  Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
