Role Overview
As Data Centre Technical Support, you will provide technical and application engineering support throughout the project lifecycle — from reviewing specifications and developing equipment selections through to technical presentations, testing and project delivery.
You will be responsible for understanding complex customer requirements and translating them into practical, compliant and commercially viable data centre cooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Provide application engineering support across Hyperscale, Colocation and Enterprise Data Centre projects.
Review project specifications, consultant requirements and tender documentation.
Select appropriate equipment and develop technical proposals and compliance documentation.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations and training for customers, consultants and other stakeholders.
Work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams on product capabilities, customised selections and technical solutions.
Coordinate and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), including preparation of test scripts.
Ensure proposed solutions comply with relevant industry standards, project requirements and customer specifications.
Provide technical input and support to the Data Centre Sales and Service teams.
Monitor emerging technologies, industry developments and market trends across data centre cooling.
Contribute technical insights to product development, solution strategy and future business opportunities.
Build strong technical relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HVAC professional who understands the technical and operational demands of critical cooling and data centre environments.
You will ideally have:
A BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
10+ years' experience in HVAC, critical cooling or a closely related technical environment.
Experience supporting Data Centre cooling projects is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of thermal engineering and critical cooling systems.
Experience with chillers, hydronic systems, pumps, heat exchangers and refrigeration systems.
Strong understanding of airside systems and HVAC applications.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, project specifications and technical documentation.
Knowledge of Australian and international HVAC and Data Centre standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work effectively across technical, commercial and project teams.
