About the role

The Supplier Development Specialist will support supplier readiness, capacity, capability, and operational performance by conducting on-site assessments, identifying risks, and driving structured improvement and recovery actions. This role will work closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to improve production stability, throughput, process capability, and readiness for new product introductions, volume ramps, and technology changes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Supplier Development Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Conduct supplier capacity, capability, and readiness assessments across staffing, equipment, tooling, process stability, layout, flow, and quality systems.

  • Validate production capacity, actual throughput versus quoted capacity, bottlenecks, and production allocation, and support corrective and recovery actions.

  • Execute structured problem-solving activities including RCA, 5-Why, fishbone, PFMEA reviews, and corrective action implementation.

  • Lead on-site supplier improvement activities using Lean tools such as 5S, flow optimization, standard work, and visual management to support capacity expansion and process optimization.

  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Performance teams to support supplier readiness, dual sourcing, supplier qualification, onboarding, and sustainable performance improvement.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are analytical, results-oriented, resilient, and comfortable working directly with suppliers in manufacturing environments. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, Operations, or related manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with production processes, capacity analysis, process flow, bottleneck identification, and operational diagnostics.

  • Advanced English.

  • Ability to travel approximately 25–50% of the time.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Engineering or Supply Chain degree, preferably Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience working directly on the supplier shop floor and applying RCA, Lean tools, process improvement methodologies, and supplier readiness criteria.

Benefits

We offer a competitive total rewards package that may include other benefits and well-being programs. Offerings vary by role and location and are designed to support employees’ health, security, and success.

If you require a reasonable accommodation to complete the application process, participate in an interview, or otherwise engage in the hiring process, please contact us at [email protected]. We will make every effort to meet your needs in accordance with applicable laws.
