Role Purpose
Lead and support manufacturing operations through the Advanced Manufacturing team by designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing systems from concept through full production. This role ensures optimization of equipment, processes, and technology to improve productivity, quality, and safety, while driving digital transformation initiatives aligned with Industry 4.0.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Advanced Manufacturing team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational goals.
Manage capital projects aimed at process optimization through technology implementation and industry best practices.
Drive technical problem-solving initiatives using structured methodologies (root cause analysis, scientific methods) to improve equipment and process performance.
Lead continuous improvement and changes in manufacturing systems to increase productivity and process control.
Design manufacturing processes, including selection, procurement, and installation of machinery and equipment. Define operating parameters to maximize quality, productivity, and safety, and develop production fixtures.
Collaborate with equipment suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective use of technology.
Develop and qualify suppliers for new implementations and engineering changes.
Ensure compliance with Carrier Excellence, Quality Management Systems (ISO), and Safety standards.
Support MOC, EH&S, Quality, Product, Operations, and PROCERT requirements.
Maintain documentation control, develop PFMEA/AMEF, and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives.
Develop and manage departmental budgets as well as capital project budgets.
Monitor and drive performance through KPI tracking and achievement.
Train and develop operational personnel in critical technical roles.
Promote process efficiency through digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Advanced English proficiency.
Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing systems.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in automation, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
10–15 years of experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, or Process roles.
Experience in production line transfers and plant start-ups.
Proven project management experience.
Experience in HVAC or metal-mechanic manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of manual and automated welding processes.
Experience in leak testing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills using methodologies such as PDCA, A3, 8D, 5S, DOE.
Proficiency in Lean tools such as Standard Work, 8 Wastes, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), among others.
