About the role
The Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting cost accounting and financial analysis activities across manufacturing operations. This role operates as part of a center of excellence, providing cost analysis and financial support to multiple plants. The position focuses on inventory valuation, cost variance analysis, product costing, and month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial information to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cost Analyst, you’ll be responsible for:
- Analyze material, price, and production variances, including PPV, OMV/OPV, scrap, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Perform detailed analysis of inventory adjustments and cost-related accounts.
- Prepare and review variance analysis results with management and plant leadership.
- Execute product costing activities within ERP systems and support updates to standard costs.
- Support month-end close processes related to cost accounts, including manual journal entries, calculations, and estimates.
- Participate in annual cost restandardization and physical inventory processes.
- Support the release and calculation of new annual pricing.
- Develop financial analyses, reports, and presentations for internal and corporate review.
- Collaborate with multiple manufacturing plants to provide cost insights and ensure consistent financial practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to cost processes, data accuracy, and system efficiency.
Role Objectives
- Ensure accurate and timely cost accounting and inventory valuation across manufacturing plants.
- Provide meaningful cost analysis and insights to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Support compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and Carrier financial policies.
- Improve cost processes through standardization, efficiency, and data-driven analysis.

As a minimum you must have:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting, finance, or related financial roles.
- Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with SAP; experience with BPCS (AS/400) is a plus.
- Data analysis skills; Power BI experience is a plus.
- Language
- Intermediate to advanced English, with the ability to communicate with U.S.-based stakeholders.
Soft skills:
- Strong analytical and accounting skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, particularly during month-end close.
- High level of organization and adaptability in a multi-plant environment.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration across functions and locations.
