About this role

Carrier Commercial Service in Mississauga is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to carry out routine preventive maintenance and inspection of HVAC equipment (i.e. water pumps), regardless of size or location at the customers’ location. Maintain warehouse inventory, HVAC tools and parts, and consumables, compliance with storage procedures, safety policies, and general housekeeping standards.

Could lead to an 313A apprenticeship.

Working onsite at customers’ locations from Monday to Friday on the day shift with optional overtime.

This is a current vacancy for which Carrier is currently hiring. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out routine preventive and repair maintenance and inspection of HVAC equipment
  • Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator tubes, condenser tubes
  • Assist Journeymen and Apprentices on repairs

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED AND 1+ years of work experience in a residential, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance environment OR Trade Certificate or Post Secondary education in HVAC
  • Enrolled in G3 program or G3 gas license holder
  • Qualified to perform work listed in Union 787 collective agreement - Preventive Maintenance Appendix C
  • Able and willing to join Local 787 union
  • Work overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Water pump experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and MS Teams
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Resourceful in problem solving
  • Team player

Additional information

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada. No visa sponsoring available.

The expected hourly salary range for this role is between $23.00 and $46.00. The rate of pay may be impacted by factors such as the applicant’s geographic location, market data/range, skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and/or other relevant considerations.​

This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, etc., as well as possible RRSP matching.​

Other Compensation

This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive.  If the role provides for an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.
