About the role

This role will be responsible for Structural Design (fabrication and  sheet metal), Materials analysis, GD&T, 3D software’s knowledge, Parts development support, Reliability Testing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design & development of structural parts/ chassis of air-conditioners

• Material analysis & selections

• Parts development/ localization activities, support to suppliers

• Knowledge of machining process and optimize design as per that.

• Hands of experience in 3D software (e.g Creo, Solidworks etc)

• 2D/3D Drawings & design preparation, review& tolerance analysis

• BOM creation, ECN etc.

• Parts development, reliability and qualification.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Design & development experience required as below:

Essential Competencies/ Primary Skill Set:

• 2-4 years design experience in 3D & 2D design and development of sheet metal /  fabrication

• Knowledge & experience of different material grades, properties, application & selections

• VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) and product costing, should costing analysis

• Design and drawing review, Experience of Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis

• Machine / tool process knowledge (at suppliers ends) for development of parts

• Support to suppliers for part development and tooling trials.

• BOM preparation, design changes, ECN process etc.

• Maintain and update CAD libraries, engineering documentation (BOMs, assembly instructions), and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience of 3D software (Pro-E, Catia etc) & design data management

Desirable Competencies/ Secondary Skill Set:

• Understanding of the entire new product development process.

• Analytical thinking, Problem solving, adaptability and strong communication skills.

• Self-starter who can work on his/her own initiative, balance demand load & prioritize
