KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and drive execution for Customer Specific Requirements within associated Carrier Manufacturing Plants
  • Drive robust Design Reviews, PFMEA and Control Plan activities during New Product Introduction as well as ongoing production
  • Track and Report Quality KPIs by customer, product, and site
  • Lead/ Support product containment with associated manufacturing sites
  • Ensure ProCert / SPC is being leveraged to monitor and control key product characteristics
  • Partner with Plant Quality Managers to drive timely & effective containments and corrective actions using 8D methodology for defects (found at the plant or in the field)
  • Ensure all suppliers and the materials they provide adhere to engineering and manufacturing specifications and company and government standards
  • Liaise between product engineers, supplier, manufacturing personnel to be assure the interpretation of the prints/ drawing are aligned with engineering requirements

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience; related field of study or equivalent is acceptable.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for this position is a positive self-driven professional who possesses a combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills.

  • 4+ years of experience working in the Quality or Manufacturing Engineering function in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working through ISO9001 certification and internal auditing
  • Robust skills of data manipulation, interpretation and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
  • Familiar with GD&T methodology
  • Strong corrective action skills, ability to lead a cross-functional team and follow the issue to closure using 8D problem-solving tools such as; 5Y, fishbone, Fault tree analysis, etc
  • Experience with AIAG quality core tools such as, MSA, SPC, FMEA & Control plans
  • Knowledge of Quality tools (SPC, Pareto Charts, Cause & Effect Analysis, Minitab, etc.) and the deployment of these tools in continuous improvement initiatives
