Carrier Commercial Service creates a total solution for all building mechanical systems. In addition to preventive maintenance and comprehensive service and repairs, the team customizes BluEdge service agreements for full-building mechanical systems. Expertise includes controls, modifications, engineering, life cycle cost analysis, financial services, and more, alongside equipment repair and replacement services.
About this role
As an Apprentice with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort. Your continued knowledge of HVAC and hazard and safety practices will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. As an Apprentice, you will be working onsite at various customers in the UA516 Union jurisdiction under the close supervision of a journeyperson. Membership to the UA516 Union is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide applied equipment service and HVAC maintenance for the existing customer base
- Handle minor repairs on applied and unitary equipment
- Assist the journeypersons with tasks if required
- Establish and maintain professional customer relations
- Comply with the company Environment, Health and Safety Policies, and Procedures
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Accepted into an apprenticeship program
- Member of UA516, or eligible to become a member
- 2 years plus of experience working in HVAC system maintenance
- Valid driver’s license and able to drive to customers in the Greater Vancouver Area
Preferred Qualifications
- Busy with 2nd year plus apprenticeship
- College diploma or other post-secondary accreditation in HVAC studies
- Computer literate with a general knowledge of HVAC DDC system
- Proven analytical and diagnostic skills
- Customer-focused with proven problem-solving skills
- English communication (verbal and written)
- Interpersonal skills and team player
- Work well under pressure to meet deadlines and customer commitments
- Time management, planning, and organizational skills
