About the role

This position is for a Field Service technician, related to refrigeration plants of GDO Customers (not HVAC). Uses standard procedures to respond to basic customer inquiries related to installation, modification, upgrade, maintenance and repair of the company products or equipment purchased. Applies skills in the execution of existing procedures.

Requirements

We are looking for people who possess good skills to provide efficient and accurate maintenance - and repair - activities on refrigerant devices/systems of Carrier customers, aligned with the provided dispatching and EH&S rule set.

As a minimum you must have:

  • High school diploma (thermomechanical expert/technician or similar)
  • Good and proven knowledge of the principles of thermodynamics, mechanics, electrical, related to refrigeration systems.
  • Good knowledge (at least 5 years of experience) on refrigeration systems for organized distribution of the major brands marketed (Carrier, Epta, Arneg, De Rigo, Frigoveneta, others.)

Additional necessary requirements

  • Technical Knowledge – willingness to gain constantly new technical knowledge according to the demands in the field
  • Good communication/team-player – to customers, as well as to supervisors, dispatchers or colleagues
  • Time Management – any activity must be performed in respect of the given timeframe - persistent, focused on targets/results, flexible, working independently and in teams.
  • KPI’s - Standard PM-times, standard repair times, FTF, productivity, reported sales opportunities.
  • MS Office – user knowledge.
  • F-Gas regulation certified.
  • Brazing certified.
  • Licence driving B.
  • Availability to move on territory.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Works under direct supervision to provide product and technical support.
  • Uses standard procedures to respond to basic customer inquiries related to installation, modification, upgrade, maintenance and repair of the company products or equipment purchased.
  • Perform preventive maintenances within the given standard-times and follow the service sales process
  • Perform repairs (troubleshooting) according to the dispatching instructions within the given standard-times and with the usage of remote connectivity.
  • Represent Carrier in front of the customers in a friendly and professional manor
  • Ensure on-time delivery of field reports (job sheets, protocols, …) with completeness and quality data.
  • Cooperating with suppliers, subcontractors, internal Carrier’s employees.
  • Identifying and ordering needed spare parts
  • Ensure a Risk Assessment is conducted and documented prior to all works to be carried out
  • Work with due care in respect of EHS/ ethical codex for yourself, customers and the general public. Keep tools and equipment in good functional condition - keep company vehicle in good/ clean condition.
  • Manage Van inventory aligned with finance – perform at least once per year a detailed inventory check
  • Pro-active identify sale opportunities, and report these to the back-office
