Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay out work processes and sequences of operations required to fabricate specified tool.
  • Obtain necessary material as specified or required.
  • Perform all required machine and fabricating operations required to produce tool, including heat-treating annealing, hardening, grinding and sharpening.
  • Assemble dies and fixtures and take tryout tests.
  • Perform repair and alteration operations as specified.
  • Perform such precision inspection and tryout operations as may be specified for tool and equipment procured from outside sources.  Perform other similar and less skilled work.
  • Follow all site safety rules specific to their position, as seen in the associate handbook, cardinal rule cards, job specific standard work and any EHS training documents.
  • Report all chemical spills and other environmental concerns to their supervisor, security, or EHS immediately.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with Stamping Dies.
  • Must be able to work with complex drawings and close tolerances.
  • Must be able to use shop mathematics and handbook formulas.
  • Must be able to use all types of precision inspection and checking equipment.
  • Journeyman’s License for Tool and Die for a US-based Union OR the ability to pass skills assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with complex technical drawings and maintain close tolerances.
  • Proficiency in shop mathematics and use of handbook formulas.
  • Experience using various types of precision inspection and checking equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
