About this role

The Process Engineer will lead key initiatives within the Refrigeration and Residential and Light Commercial HVAC Americas divisions. Reporting directly to the Director of Systems and Software, this role focuses on managing embedded software development projects as well as projects related to process improvement, data analytics, system modeling, and platforming. The Process Engineer will guide cross-functional teams, ensure effective communication, and drive the completion of high-priority projects. This role also includes overseeing team communications and acting as a strategic advisor, aligning objectives and fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead major projects, ensuring progress is tracked, issues are resolved, and successful completion is achieved.

  • Manage the full project lifecycle, including gathering requirements, development, testing, release, and communication.

  • Collaborate with teams and cross-functional groups to ensure efficient project execution.

  • Primary responsibility for internal and external communications for the Systems and Software COE, developing strategies, tools and messaging.

  • Ensure alignment in communications, including updates on financials, staffing, project performance, and process improvements.

  • Develop and manage tools such as Confluence, Asana, and shared documents to improve collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Track and drive process improvement activities for the RES and REF teams, maintaining a prioritized list of ongoing initiatives.

  • Develop timelines, goals, and resource plans for initiatives, working with various teams to ensure timely completion.

  • Lead efforts for standardizing systems, software, and testing processes across the RES and REF teams.

  • Coordinate collaboration activities with the data analytics team defining strategies, organizing and prioritizing key activities.

  • Oversee collaboration efforts with the system modeling team, ensuring priorities are met and ensuring alignment.

  • Take ownership of special initiatives such as workshops, task forces, or tiger teams, addressing critical team objectives.

  • Ensure that critical team goals are prioritized and tracked to align with the broader strategic objectives.

  • Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with team goals and strategies.

  • Champion the implementation of standardized processes and tools to improve efficiency and consistency across the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years of experience in an Engineering Environment OR Masters Degree with 3+ years of experience in an Engineering Environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with and an understanding of software, controls and electronics development processes

  • BS in Software, Electrical or Systems Engineering preferred

  • Ability to organize and work independently

  • Thorough and organized with solid communication skills

  • Skilled in the use of standard office tools including MS Project, Excel, Visio

  • Experience with Teams, Confluence, Asana and Planisware a plus

  • Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration industry or automotive industry a plus

  • Familiarity with Carrier a plus

  • International travel experience a plus

  • Travel expected to be 15%
