About the role

This role will lead design and development of AC & BLDC motors for HVAC applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead design and development of AC & BLDC motors for HVAC applications.

  • Manage complete NPD lifecycle from concept to mass production.

  • Drive motor testing, validation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Handle field issues, reliability improvement, and cost optimization.

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) and implement corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Controls, Manufacturing, Sourcing).

  • Support localization, supplier development, and industrialization activities.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Overall: 10–15 Years (Minimum 5–10 years hands-on experience in motor design and development)

Required Skills:

  • Motor Design & Development

  • AC / BLDC / PMSM Technology

  • Motor Testing & Validation

  • Energy Efficiency & Regulatory Compliance

Domain Area:

1 Phase & 3 Phase AC & BLDC Motor Technology, Development & Industrialization.

Essential Competencies/ Primary Skill Set:

  • Strong expertise in AC & BLDC motor design for HVAC applications

  • Deep understanding of electromagnetic, thermal & mechanical fundamentals

  • Hands-on experience in motor testing, validation & efficiency compliance

  • Proven Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) and problem-solving capability

  • End-to-end NPD and project management experience

  • Exposure to inverter-driven motors & drive integration

  • Cross-functional coordination and supplier management skills

Desirable Competencies/ Secondary Skill Set:

  • Experience with motor simulation tools (Motor-CAD / ANSYS / JMAG)

  • Knowledge of global energy efficiency standards (IE2 / IE3 / IE4)

  • Experience in localization & alternate source qualification

  • Supplier technical evaluation & development experience

  • Exposure to global product development environment

  • Understanding of manufacturing process optimization & cost reduction initiatives
