Job Description

The Senior Engineering Manager for the Applied Water-Cooled Chiller NPD team will provide strategic leadership and direction for the development of innovative water-cooled chiller products, overseeing projects from initial feasibility studies through to implementation in the factory. This role is responsible for managing budgets, timelines, and a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure successful product development and launch.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in centrifugal compression technology and water-cooled chiller system design, along with substantial experience in large-scale project management. They will lead cross-functional teams, drive technical excellence, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Strong communication skills are essential, as the manager will facilitate technical review boards (TRBs), organize project passports, and effectively influence design decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers dedicated to developing next-generation water-cooled chiller products.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources from concept through factory implementation.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of centrifugal compression technology and water-cooled system design to guide product development.
  • Organize and facilitate TRBs and passports, ensuring rigorous technical reviews and compliance with quality standards.
  • Influence design decisions through effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
  • Foster a high-performing culture, providing mentorship and professional development for team members.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 8+ years of experience.

OR

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.

OR

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing teams
  • 3+ years of experience in centrifugal compression technology and HVAC system modeling and design

Preferred Qualification:

  • PhD degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in managing project budgets and delivering results on time.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Outstanding communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams and working with stakeholders.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 - $234,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
