About this Role

The air-cooled chiller group in Carrier’s Commercial HVAC division is seeking a dynamic, self-starting intern to join our team for the summer of 2025.  The Carrier internship experience offers a team-based environment that presents interns with the opportunity to tie their educational training to real application.  The individual selected for this role will gain organizational cross functional experience through directly working with supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, and other engineering functions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Team member of the Packaged Chiller/Splits Development organization
  • Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design
  • Under the leadership of a mentor, develop chiller system architecture that meets or exceeds the product development requirements
  • Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability in the engineering product test laboratories
  • Collaborate with both internal and external compression development teams to seamlessly integrate compressor designs into chiller system designs
  • Collaborate with manufacturing faculties to effectively implement design into production

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or Higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering field.
  • GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in this technology space
  • Strong communication skills, primarily in English
  • Leadership and teamwork skills required
  • Highly developed analytical and organizational skills
  • Professional self-starter harboring a positive attitude
