About the Role - We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our AI team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models to solve complex business challenges. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions, ensuring that our AI initiatives deliver measurable value to the organization. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the overall data science strategy.
Primary responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that meet performance standards and business requirements
Conduct comprehensive data analysis to extract actionable insights and drive data-informed decision-making
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership
Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models in production, implementing improvements and updates as needed
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines and high-quality datasets for model training and evaluation
Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI and data science, incorporating cutting-edge techniques and technologies into projects
Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for the data science team
Work closely with the MLOps team to ensure smooth deployment and integration of models into production environments
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation, including model specifications, data dictionaries, and user guides
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile development process
Experience and Skills Required:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
6+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning roles
Strong proficiency in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Extensive experience with machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
Solid understanding of statistical analysis, experimental design, and A/B testing
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex business problems into data science solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices
Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring
Knowledge of data privacy regulations and ethical considerations in AI development
Experience mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to team growth
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
