About this role

As a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross organizational teams to ensure that the highest level of quality standards are achieved and maintained for our products, services, and processes. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring high performance, deviation prevention and ongoing continuous improvements to deliver outstanding solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with suppliers to ensure deviation prevention, continuous improvement, and excellent performance to meet Sensitech quality standards.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams on new product launches and enhancement releases.
  • Conducts factory audits of key supplier facilities to review/qualify production lines for existing and new products; verifies engineering change and manufacturing procedure changes.
  • Works directly with Engineering to prevent / resolve design or manufacturability issues.
  • Acts as liaison between Quality, Support Services, and Engineering teams for escalation of product and service issues. 
  • Leads manufacturers/suppliers through the process of problem definition, root cause analysis, solution finding, implementation, and on-site verification to meet commitment timelines.
  • Provides diagnostic support and trend analysis in determining failure modes and root cause (design vs. workmanship vs. handling). 
  • Facilitates communications in response to customer complaints. 
  • Collaborates with internal departments ensuring that product or process issues are properly addressed.   
  • Analyzes product/process failures, develops corrective and preventive action in response to product or process escalations.
  • Oversees quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collection; makes recommendations for solutions and improvement opportunities. 
  • Facilitates and participates in ongoing activities including but not limited to inspections, evaluation and disposition of non-conforming materials, product fallout, and customer returns.
  • Maintains required Quality records and documentation.
  • Meets and maintains ISO9001 and Sensitech Carrier Excellence continuous improvement standards.
  • Participates as an auditor on the Internal Audit Team.
  • Periodically reviews existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with current practice and Sensitech’s Quality Management System. Revises procedures, as needed.
  • Provides monthly metrics and detailed reports to management, as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of Engineering, small Electronics, or Quality experience
  • Up to 20% travel required 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or equivalent education/professional training along with extended work experience in a Quality/Engineering role.
  • 7 + years’ experience in electronic product manufacturing quality role, including supplier quality management, and supplier quality system assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers, suppliers and Sensitech global personnel in an accurate and professional manner.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic product manufacturing control and process flows and quality problem solving tools such as 8D corrective / preventive action, FMEA, etc.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Solid understanding of electronic component and product assembly processes in high volume industry.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers with professionalism.
  • Knowledge of, and practical use of SPC.
  • Highly organized self-starter, able to work independently and engage proactively.
  • ISO 9001 and Lean quality system knowledge. (Certified Six Sigma Black or Green belt is preferred.)
