About the role

As the Materials Manager, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring a seamless flow of direct materials that directly impacts our production efficiency and product quality. Your strategic planning and meticulous management will be crucial in optimizing our supply chain and contributing to our commitment to delivering innovative and reliable solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Materials Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic material plans to support production forecasts and optimize inventory.

  • Overseeing all aspects of direct material management, including sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationships.

  • Collaborating with production planning to ensure timely material availability for various production models (MTS, MTO, ETO).

  • Implementing and maintaining effective inventory control systems to optimize working capital.

  • Building strong relationships with suppliers, including international vendors, ensuring performance and quality.

  • Utilizing SAP (MM module) for efficient procurement, inventory management, and reporting.

  • Generating and analyzing data to identify trends and drive improvements in materials management.

  • Leading and developing the materials team to achieve high performance.

  • Proactively identifying and resolving material-related issues to ensure operational continuity.

  • Leading change management initiatives within the materials function.

Requirements

We are looking for proactive and results-oriented individuals with strong analytical and leadership skills. If this is you, get in touch. As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Materials Manager with direct materials focus.

  • Advanced proficiency in English (for communication with suppliers, corporate, and internal stakeholders).

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) module.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Master's degree in Manufacturing or Supply Chain (APICS certification preferred).

  • Proven experience in direct material procurement (e.g., copper, aluminum, steel).

  • Strong understanding of material planning principles.
