By overseeing the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives, the senior manager not only addresses regulatory compliance but also works towards enhancing the company’s reputation and engagement with stakeholders. Additionally, this position will be directly responsible for a key sub-process to this program; to screen our global supply chain for forced labor, conduct necessary due diligence, and drive remediation of violations to ensure goods purchased were not mined, produced or manufactured, wholly or in part, with prohibited forms of labor.

  • Integrate new or existing supplier risk related processes into a common supplier risk profile dashboard reflecting risk indicators such as strategic, financial, geopolitical, capacity, ESG, cybersecurity, forced labor, operational performance, and compliance.
  • Identify and implement a process for visibility of risks to sub-tiers for key material categories.
  • Collaborate with sourcing managers to embed risk management solutions into sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management and contracting activities.
  • Establish a new supplier risk assessment process to pre-qualify suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to supply chain risk to senior management.

Sustainability

  • These professionals serve as catalysts for change, driving responsible business practices and promoting sustainability across global supply chains.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into sourcing, and supply chain operations.
  • Establish and manage the supply chain organization’s sustainability reporting, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Dir, Environment, Social & Governance to communicate sustainability initiatives and achievements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and management of supply chain related Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions and reduction plans.

Child labor, Forced Labor & Human Trafficking Screening

Keys to success in this role will include proactive measures to manage risk and using automation and AI digital tools to identify, verify, or defend allegations of forced labor in our supply chain.

  • Track and monitor global suppliers for potential human rights violations using digital solutions.
  • Conduct due diligence to assess suppliers based on risk profile, screening red flags, and other factors indicating potential violations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for an effective remediation plan if forced labor is detected in the supply chain.
  • Work with International Trade Compliance – Customs Counsel, to respond to enforcement actions, such as US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Withhold Release Orders, or other similar actions brought by customs agencies in other jurisdictions.
  • Maintain awareness of and impact of emerging regulatory requirements globally, identify strategies/recommendations, and integrate solutions back into appropriate business processes and digital solutions.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements related to forced labor screening practices and findings.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends and best practices in supply chain risk management for screening of forced labor and human rights violations.
  • Develop and conduct training and educational programs to increase awareness and indicators of risk for forced labor in our supplier operations.
  • Develop standard work to operationalize the forced labor risk screening elements of the program.
