About This Role
At NORESCO, Project Developers direct the development of energy efficiency projects by identifying, assessing, and structuring technical and financial solutions for our customers' energy efficiency and capital improvement challenges. They have a strong understanding of a wide range of technology offerings and have the communication and business skills necessary to bridge the gap between the sales, engineering, and construction management groups. Project Developers translate customer needs into strategic and technical guidance to the development team.
We have an immediate need for a Senior Project Developer. This is a remote position for the Western United States with a preference for the States of CA, AZ, OR, WA, or CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical/financial support of sales activities, financial modeling of Energy Performance Contract
- Proposal writing and Quality Control reviews
- Coordination of proposal or project team
- Conduct walk-throughs of customer facilities to determine project viability
- Interview customers to determine facility needs and assess customer expectations
- Assists in the preparation of customer presentations or interviews
- Presents the business case of the proposal for oral interviews and customer meetings
Financial Modeling of Energy Performance Contracts:
- Combined energy savings values, sub-contracted costs, and purchased material costs and incorporates these data into NORESCO’s financial model
- Review energy savings and costs for reasonableness based on past experience, metrics, and knowledge of the project
- Analyzes Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for technical and financial viability
Proposal Writing and Review/QC:
- Responsible for financial/technical sections of the proposal
- Reviews ECM write-ups and other technical proposal sections provided by Energy Engineers
- Coordinates proposal document strategy and tactics with the Account Executive
- Supported by a Proposal Administrator (PA) to review, edit, and assemble proposals and audit documents
Management and Coordination of Proposal Team:
- Manages the proposal team including Account Executive, Energy Engineer(s), Lighting and Water Auditor/Designer, Construction Manager, and M&V Specialist
- Host weekly conference calls to communicate strategy and tactics, review team member’s responsibilities and progress to date against milestones
- Coordinates and leads risk review meeting prior to proposal submission, presenting the business case for the project
- Manages the proposal and detailed audit budgets and timelines to produce project deliverables on time and within budget
Ability to travel 15- 25%
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in energy engineering, energy management, and/or sustainability projects
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, PE, and CEM are not required, but preferred
- Experience in development of Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects preferred
- Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline
- Skilled with Microsoft Excel
- Adept in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Strong technical writing skills
- Sales aptitude and keen business acumen
- General knowledge of building systems, water/wastewater, and renewable energy systems

Pay Range:
