About this role
At Sensitech, we value a user-centric approach at all stages of our product lifecycle, from conception through design, development, and customer experience. Our Interaction Designer will assist and support our User Experience team with UX design, visual design, user research, product learning materials, and UI development to produce design assets and to develop and deliver enterprise software and mobile applications.
To be successful in this role, you must display a genuine interest in various interaction design disciplines. You should be naturally inquisitive and comfortable working with people as part of a larger team. You must possess strong written and verbal skills to deliver design presentations and research findings through written, oral, and visual presentation methods.
The Interaction Designer must have experience gathering user requirements, designing intuitive enterprise software applications, creating visual styles, and conducting research to inform and validate the user experience.
The Interaction Designer works closely with a global team of designers, researchers, software engineers, product stakeholders, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead designs through the full product design lifecycle on multiple projects and initiatives from early ideation, to detailed execution, through delivery.
Develop, document, and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards across the product portfolio, working with stakeholders and product teams. Manage design systems.
Build an understanding of business goals to help drive results. Challenge the goals when necessary to align with the user’s needs.
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, accessibility, findability, admin tools, etc.). Propose opportunities for improvement based on user feedback and research.
Design interaction concepts using storyboards, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Create original visual designs (e.g., illustrations, icons, color theory, and other graphics)
Participate in user research, evaluate user feedback, report and document findings for stakeholders, and translate findings into design requirements.
Collect customer and industry insights and gather data to deepen our understanding of user needs, behaviors, and mental models.
Support design needs for training and product learning materials.
Artistic eye for design and ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
Conversational English level.
4-6 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or related role delivering interaction and visual design.
College Degree in Human Factors (HCI), Interaction Design, or a related field.
A portfolio of professional design projects that include software UI/UX projects and visual design examples is required to be consideredfor this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of design and wireframe tools (e.g., Axure, Figma, Adobe, etc.)
Good understanding of front-end UI development needs to assist delivery of UI components and support engineering teams as needed.
Engaged team player; strong communication and listening skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including executives, sales and support teams, and end users.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals.
Understanding of agile principles and collaboration tools including Confluence, Jira, or similar software; and using Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, Etc.)
Adaptable and able to transform ambiguity into intuitive interaction designs.
Must be confident and skilled in leading design discussions to foster a collaborative approach to advising stakeholders, requirements collection, solution review, and ongoing feedback.
Collaboration is key. Must have an inquisitive and open nature to contribute to discussions and foster a collaborative approach to research and information gathering.
