The Role

This is a key leadership role at Container Refrigeration, headquartered in Singapore.  The position drives a comprehensive manufacturing quality and operations strategy to ensure exceptional life-cycle experience with our products and services. It champions customer-focused quality initiatives and partners cross-functionally to elevate customer satisfaction and product reliability. Additionally, it plays a key role in integrating quality principles throughout new product development to ensure robust design, seamless launch execution, and accelerated innovation. This role leads initiatives within a matrix organization to achieve business results in cost, quality, and delivery while fostering a culture of Carrier Excellence.

Owns the execution of Quality Assurance operational goals and plans. May lead multiple teams responsible for Quality Assurance for a large organization. Sets direction and leads resources to ensure continuous quality improvement. Provides guidance across the organization in the implementation of plans and procedures that drive achievement of Quality goals.

Job Description

  • Directs development of plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.

  • Develops and leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.

  • Drives quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.

  • Directs collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.

  • Directs production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Product Quality and Reliability with cross-functional team to achieve best-in-class Quality performance and most optimized TCOPQ 

  • Accomplish exceptional customer experience in quality by either interacting directly with customers or indirectly through customer-facing teams 

  • Champion customer-focused quality initiatives across aftermarket service operations to ensure consistent customer satisfaction. Collaborate with service teams, technical support, and product engineering to address any customer quality concerns. 

  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, and other customers facing roles to ensure best-in-class customer quality experience with our products and services. 

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, PMO, others and own quality performance with both new products and existing products. 

  • Supplier Quality Assurance – Drive best-in-class Supplier Quality and owning Supplier Quality performance for every component integrated onto our products

  • Factory Quality Assurance – Drive best-in-class Factory Quality and owning Factory Quality performance for every unit produced. 

  • Product Reliability and Field Performance – Drive best-in-class quality and reliability for our products. 

  • Manufacturing Operations – Drive transformative manufacturing strategies for best-in-class operations and command long-term sustainable operations advantage. 

  • Manufacturing Technology – Drive innovative manufacturing technologies and automation solutions to enhance productivity, quality and safety

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Executive Director, Operations and VP&GM, Global Container 

Peer Relationship: Functional HODs, Program Management Offices, Regional Leads 

IDEAL PROFILE

  • 10+ years of manufacturing and customer related experience with broad exposure across various aspects of production, quality, and operations. 

  • 5+ years of management experience including leading team and driving operational excellence.

  • Ability to interact with customers and provide support in customer quality which ensuring manufacturing processes align with customer needs and expectations. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and teamwork.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges, optimize efficiency, and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability to excel in a dynamic manufacturing environment, responding swiftly to changes and implementing innovative solutions.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline, MBA preferred.

  • Position will require more than 50% travel.

Minimum Requirements


Requires deep management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple related departments.
University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years' experience.
