About the role
As a Regulation Agency Engineering professional, you will ensure that HVAC products meet all applicable safety, regulatory, and certification requirements throughout their lifecycle. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strong regulatory knowledge, driving compliance, product certification, audit readiness, and field issue resolution. Your work will directly impact customer trust and product reliability, ensuring Carrier remains a leader in quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
As part of Regulation Agency Engineering, you’ll be responsible for:
Ensuring regulatory compliance and managing UL/ETL product certifications across HVAC product lines, including interpreting evolving standards and maintaining agency files.
Leading regulatory reporting and risk evaluations for safety-related issues, communicating findings and required actions to certification bodies and internal stakeholders.
Supporting agency and manufacturing audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely corrective updates for compliant production.
Supporting engineering tests to validate product performance and resolve technical discrepancies tied to compliance.
Driving resolution of field quality and safety issues, managing production holds, and working with agencies to update product files and resume compliant manufacturing.
Requirements
We are looking for people who are detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about compliance and safety. If this is you, get in touch.
As a minimum you must have:
Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards and certification processes (e.g., UL, ETL).
Strong technical foundation in HVAC systems, risk analysis, and product validation.
Electrical & Mechanical skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3.5 to 5 years of relevant experience in product design and regulatory compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
Advanced English proficiency.
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
Familiarity with AHRI efficiency standards (HVAC-focused).
Experience with global regulatory frameworks and HVAC-specific standards.
Prior experience managing audits and agency interactions.
