About the role

As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and controlled implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for Light Commercial HVAC products manufactured at Carrier Mexico. This role serves as the primary liaison between Design Centers and Manufacturing, ensuring product changes are effectively translated into production while maintaining quality, cost, compliance, and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of engineering design changes through the ECN process, from Manufacturing Review through production release.
  • Ensure products manufactured at Carrier Mexico comply with design center specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Review engineering drawings, product specifications, tolerance analyses, and technical documentation necessary for implementation.
  • Validate and maintain BOM integrity in SAP/MRP systems, ensuring alignment between released engineering data and manufacturing requirements.
  • Evaluate ECNs during Manufacturing Review and identify risks related to quality, cost, safety, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, EH&S, Finance, IT, suppliers, and Design Centers.
  • Support MCS, pilot builds, feasibility assessments, and production validation activities.
  • Drive product quality improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain effective communication, documentation, and project follow-up throughout the ECN lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Carrier’s EH&S, Ethics, Carrier Excellence (Cx), and ISO 9001 requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Engineering Change Management, Product Implementation, or related technical roles.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting manufacturing operations or production environments.
  • Advanced English communication skills.
  • Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office, Asana, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and global teams.
