About the role
As an Operational Excellence Leader, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence across manufacturing operations. This position focuses on optimizing processes, improving labor efficiency, and eliminating waste through Lean Manufacturing and Carrier Excellence methodologies. Your work will directly impact productivity, safety, and overall plant performance while enabling sustainable growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
As an Opex Leader, you'll be responsible for:
• Applying continuous improvement and operational excellence methodologies (Cx, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPS) to optimize processes and reduce waste
• Leading and developing cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving execution with a strong results-oriented mindset
• Defining workload and priorities to ensure effective use of Industrial Engineering resources
• Managing standardized work through time studies, line balancing, standard work sheets, and waste observation analysis
• Developing and maintaining work instructions, visual aids, and training materials to support operational flow and workforce capability
• Ensuring plant layouts are updated, flexible, scalable, and comply with EH&S and ergonomic standards
• Conducting capacity studies for critical equipment and determining optimal headcount based on volume, mix, and process capability
• Managing labor efficiency metrics and optimizing workforce allocation through PPQT methodologies (Part-Process-Quantity-Cycle Time)
• Performing run hours and production prioritization analysis by line and product model
• Leading problem-solving initiatives using A3, 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, and Lean tools such as VSM, SMED, Kanban, and Pull Systems
• Driving Kaizen and Lean events, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and team engagement
• Designing and implementing process improvements using industrial engineering studies and simulation tools across the 4Ms (Man, Machine, Material, Method)
• Identifying bottlenecks, eliminating waste (MUDA), and establishing sustainable standard work to meet production rates
• Implementing visual factory systems (5S, Andon, visual controls, color coding, etc.)
• Designing and improving ergonomic workstations to enhance operator safety, efficiency, and comfort
Requirements
We are looking for people who are proactive change agents, strong communicators, and collaborative leaders with high energy and a strong execution mindset. If this is you, get in touch.
As a minimum you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering roles
- 3+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools such as standard work, line balancing, SMED, and Kaizen
- Experience in capacity analysis, plant layout design, PPQT, and process simulations
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies (A3, 5 Whys, 8D, DMAIC, Red X)
- Proven experience leading productivity or continuous improvement projects (Cx events, PIPs)
- Conversational to fluent English
- Experience managing direct reports
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
• Experience coordinating cross-functional productivity projects
• Exposure to Carrier Excellence (Cx) methodologies or similar frameworks
• Experience working in manufacturing environments with assembly lines
