About the Role
Carrier’s Compression Technology team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Compressors to support manufacturing operations and sustain our portfolio of compressor products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, reliability, and manufacturability by providing technical support to production lines, driving root cause investigations, and implementing engineering solutions that improve operational performance.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Engineering teams while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and global compressor product platforms.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer – Compressors, you'll be responsible for:
Providing technical support to compressor manufacturing lines and resolving product-related issues.
Investigating product and process deviations, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Supporting reciprocating, screw, and rotating compressor product platforms throughout the product lifecycle.
Reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure compliance and product quality.
Collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Operations teams to drive productivity, quality, and cost improvement initiatives.
Supporting manufacturing, productivity, and continuous improvement projects.
Analyzing production and quality data to drive decision-making and process optimization.
Supporting implementation of engineering changes and product enhancements.
Participating in cross-functional problem-solving activities to improve manufacturing performance.
Managing technical projects and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders.
Requirements
We are looking for analytical, hands-on engineers with strong technical problem-solving skills, a passion for manufacturing excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions. If this is you, get in touch.
As a minimum you must have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, or a related technical role.
Experience providing technical support to manufacturing or production environments.
Experience supporting compressor manufacturing lines or similar industrial equipment.
Experience performing product deviation analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and quality standards.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment operation.
Experience supporting manufacturing, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project management experience and the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities.
Advanced English communication skills.
Valid U.S. Visa.
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
Experience with screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, or other rotating equipment.
Knowledge of thermodynamics, quality tools, and manufacturing problem-solving methodologies.
Experience working in a global manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and product lifecycle management.
